The Events tab is where Bloons TD 6 turns from a strategy game into a live one. Six formats rotate through it, each with its own rules, unlock level and reward economy. None of them cost extra money, and each tests a different skill; the strategy framework maps onto all of them.

Social Seasons: the team season
Social Seasons, added in the Update 54.x window, is the format that changed the social fabric of the game. You join a team, complete rotating goals (playing specific difficulties, using specific monkeys, earning cash) to contribute Stars, and the team unlocks perks that power up everyone's play. Goals have five tiers, with the top tiers awarding Team Trophies. Community-wide goals unlock cosmetics for everyone, such as seasonal MOAB skins and pets.
Worth knowing before you start grinding: Freeplay, Advanced Challenges, Deflation, Quests, Legends campaigns and Races do not count toward season goals (how those formats differ is on the challenges page and the modes page). Boss Challenge runs do count, but only if you never use Retry Last Round.
Boss Bloon Events and Races
Boss Events rotate the seven Boss Bloons weekly with escalating tiers, co-op support and ranked time-attack variants since v28.0. Race Events are pure speed: a fixed map and ruleset, global leaderboards, one free attempt every three hours, pause penalties if you pause too often, and premium powers disabled to keep the field level.
Collection Events and the seasonal calendar
Six seasonal Collection Event types run through the year (Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, Christmas, the game's birthday, and a seasonless Totem variant), trading collected track items for Insta-Monkeys through a lottery-style reward system. Community complaints about map repetition in rotations are loud and recurring; the honest statement is that rotation design is Ninja Kiwi's call and it changes.
Trophies: the event currency
Completing Races, full Odysseys, Boss tiers and Boss Rush drops Trophies, spent in the Trophy Store for cosmetics and utilities. Trophies are the reason event veterans keep playing formats they have already won.
FAQ
How do I find a team for Social Seasons?
Team recruitment posts are a permanent fixture of the game's community forums and the BTD6 subreddit, especially in the first days of a season. Join one, or create your own team and recruit; both are normal.
Do event rewards expire?
Cosmetics you earn are yours. Event availability expires: each format's window closes and rotates, which is why this page documents rules rather than schedules.
Are events pay-to-win?
No format requires purchases. Races even disable paid powers entirely, and Collection Events explicitly award Insta-Monkeys without purchases.
